πŸ’Ό Pricing & Process

Pricing & Process

How much does network cabling cost in Vancouver?

Every job is different, so we quote after a free site survey. You get a fixed, itemized quote before any work starts.

What affects the price of a cabling job?

Number of drops, cable type, ceiling type (open, T-bar, drywall or concrete), distances, whether the building is occupied, after-hours requirements, and telecom room work.

How fast can you start?

Contact us by phone, live chat or the message form and we will book a free site survey, usually within a few days.

What happens during a site survey?

We walk the space, measure routes, note every drop, camera, reader and access point, check telecom rooms and pathways, and take photos so the quote is accurate.

Do you give fixed quotes?

Yes. After the site survey you get a fixed, itemized quote with scope, drawings where needed and a schedule.

πŸ“œ Permits, Insurance & Safety

Permits, Insurance & Safety

Do you pull permits?

Yes. We pull the permits required for the work, so your project passes inspection.

Are you insured and WorkSafeBC covered?

Yes. We carry full liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage on every job site.

Can you provide insurance and WorkSafeBC documents?

Yes. We provide certificates of insurance and WorkSafeBC clearance letters to general contractors and property managers on request.

Do you provide engineering services?

No. Our management includes professional engineers (P.Eng) and applied science technologists (AScT), which shapes how we plan and document work, but Vancouver Cabling does not provide professional engineering services or seal drawings. When a stamped design is required, we work with your engineer of record.

πŸ”Œ Cabling & Fibre

Cabling & Fibre

Should I install Cat6 or Cat6a?

Cat6 suits most offices. Cat6a is better for Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 access points, server rooms, high-power PoE and buildings you plan to keep for 10+ years.

What is the maximum length of a network cable?

A copper Ethernet channel is limited to 100 m, including patch cords. Longer distances need another telecom room or fibre.

When do I need fibre instead of copper?

For runs over 100 m, links between buildings, high-rise risers, electrically noisy areas and high-speed uplinks between switches.

Do you test and certify the cabling?

Yes. Every run is tested and certified, and you receive test reports and as-built documentation.

Do you remove old cable?

Yes. We remove abandoned cable during retrofits and clean up existing racks and telecom rooms.

πŸ“Ή Cameras, Access & Wi-Fi

Cameras, Access & Wi-Fi

Can I view my security cameras on my phone?

Yes. We set up secure mobile viewing with permissions for each user.

Can staff use their phones instead of key cards?

Yes. Most modern access control platforms support mobile credentials alongside cards and fobs.

Do you replace strata enterphones?

Yes. We replace and upgrade enterphones, video intercoms, fob systems and parkade gate access.

Why is our office Wi-Fi slow?

Usually too few access points, poor placement, interference or weak cabling. A wireless site survey shows exactly where the problem is.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Scheduling & Service Area

Scheduling & Service Area

Can you work after hours?
